September to March: Circle of Life

Here is more info. about  the  Circle of Life series. This series is  about our connection to the natural world. The videos include mini art workshops, teachings from Indigenous elders, and information about plants that Indigenous people use for food or medicine. They also include stories from different Indigenous nations. The activities shown in these videos are for anyone ages 5 to 99! They vary in difficulty and so look at them as we post them over the next few months and do the activities you would like to do.

We will be collecting the artwork you create to photograph it and share it on our website (or photograph the artwork yourself and email it to Marg at eagleandcondorcollective@gmail.com.  We also hope to have a final artshow next spring!

Watch for info. from our organizers later in the project for possible outdoor activities geared to different age groups. We hope you enjoy the activities we post during the next few months!

Artists in the Circle:  Marg Boyle and Edgar Hernandez

Elders and Knowlege Carriers in this Circle:  Alma Lo, Rachelle Lapensee, Warren Nottaway Papatie (more tba)

For those of you living in Beaver Barracks, we will give you a free art kit so you can try the mini art workshops at home in your apartments. The kits are geared to the ages of those who register. The children's art kit differs somewhat from the adult art kit. Each kit also includes things we have collected from the natural world including shells Alma collected in Florida, driftwood and feathers Marg collected in Gaspe, and seed pods from trees in this region!

For those of you living elsewhere, we hope you will join us online for the mini workshops and elders' knowledge we are posting here! We will offer these kits until they run out, but will require shipping costs or contactless pickup for those not in the host neighbourhood.
